NBA news: Anthony Davis shock trade twist, Lakers target ready to be moved NOW. Anthony Davis will NOT be traded by the New Orleans Pelicans this season, ruling out a move to the Los Angeles Lakers.
That’s according to Pelicans reporter Jake Madison, who claims New Orleans have no intention of listening to offers until the summer.
“Not this season,” Madison said on the Locked on NBA Podcast.
“I think the earliest a trade would happen is this offseason.
“I get why teams are enquiring now but they’ve been enquiring for years.
“Every time Dell Demps, the general manager, has said: ‘no, this is not happening, I don’t think they have any interest in moving him this year’.
“This is a team that still thinks they can make the playoffs and make some noise in the playoffs.”
The Los Angeles Lakers have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of Bradley Beal with the Washington Wizards reportedly once again willing to listen to offers.
It was reported last month that the Wizards were considering blowing up their roster, with both Beal and John Wall available in potential trades.
That followed on from a disastrous start to the campaign which saw them go 2-11, with the Lakers and Boston Celtics strongly linked.
But those rumours have cooled in recent weeks with the Wizards improving to 14-23 but they still sit outside the Eastern Conference playoff spots.
However, with John Wall now out for the season, NBA reporter Keith Smith states Washington are ready to re-engage the possibility of trading away Beal.
“Talking to teams this afternoon, they said the Wizards had cooled on trade talks over the last couple of weeks,” Smith wrote on Twitter.
“Several expect to re-engage them now.
“One team told me ‘They’ve got to move on from Beal or [Otto] Porter now, just to clear up the cap some.
“‘Vultures are starting to circle.’”
