The worst NBA playoff game was over 48 minutes of garbage time

When the Denver Nuggets visited the New Orleans Hornets for game four of their 2009 playoff series, hope still existed in the world. But as soon as they tipped off, that flew out the window…or tried to fly out the window but completely missed, hitting the side of the arena, and comically making its way into the trash can. This game had everything in the most “nothing” sense of the term.

  1. The Bulls holding the Jazz to 54 pts in a huge 40pt blowout in the NBA Finals had to be up there for worst…. did SB Nation consider that one for worst?

  2. I thought this might be Heat vs. Knicks in one of those games where they combine for about 130 points.

  3. Do the worst VFL/AFL game of all time – Geelong 19.8 (122) defeated Fitzroy 2.27 (39) way back in 1928. Fitzroy had two more scoring shots, but managed to lose by 83 points.

  4. I am still convinced the Hornets 'threw' this playoff game. Some of the stuff the players were doing in this game was not a part of their character or game.
